The purpose of our 1-1 programs is to work closely with the CEO to define where the CEO should aim to take the company in the short and long term future. We act as sounding boards, sometimes offering advice and sometimes just asking questions to draw out the answers, depending on the situation. We also provide structure and discipline, using our planning and scorecard tools to help the CEO best communicate direction and stay the course.
Unlike other coaching programs, our focus is on helping the CEO to strategically improve the performance of the business. Our sessions are focused entirely on business and within the scope of strategy and leadership. This approach differs from many other programs which focus more on behavioral modification or specific skill development.
From time to time, members of the management team can be brought into these sessions, specifically when discussing a deliverable that falls under their purview.
Where it makes sense, our coaches may also go beyond helping to set goals and stay on track. They actually help CEOs work on goals along the way. We are not afraid to use the time to roll up our sleeves and help tackle initiatives, work on documentation of processes and more. Simply put, we help the CEO to establish goals, contribute towards meeting the goals and track the progress required to ultimately reach them.
